Hi There!
I'm Ian Whelan, I'm a wedding videographer and I tell stories for a living.
I set up Fireworks Wedding Films in 2007 and have since become one of the most popular wedding cinematographers in Ireland. I take an unobtrusive approach to filming and combine this with my cinematic style. This approach has provided married couples with memories they will cherish for a lifetime. I use the latest, industry standard camera and audio equipment to video the wedding day with perfect clarity.
I originally trained as a videographer at Colaiste Dhulaigh where I won two Bank of Ireland Video Awards for Best Use of Camera and Best Documentary. When I am not filming weddings, I'm still glued to my camera. I won a prestigious award at the Celtic Media Festival for the TG4 documentary "Ponydance". I have also directed, shot and edited four other documentaries for RTE 1.
My video work has been shown at film festivals all over the world, from Dingle to Chicago and just about everywhere in between.
That's my story. Now it's time for me to tell yours!
